Dr. Nian-Feng Tzeng -- Director

Nian-Feng Tzeng is Lockheed Martin Professor with the Center for Advanced Computer Studies, School of Computing and Informatics, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he joined in 1987. He has served as Associate Director of School of Computing and Informatics since 2016. His current research interest is in the areas of high-performance computer architecture and systems, computer communications and networks, dependable computing and networked systems. He had been on the editorial board of the IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 1998 - 2001, and on the editorial board of the IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1994 - 1998. He was the Chair of Technical Committee on Distributed Processing, the IEEE Computer Society, 1999 - 2001. He served as the Program Chair of 10th IEEE International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Systems (ICPADS), July 2004, and as a Distinguished Visitor of the IEEE Computer Society, 1994 - 1997.

Dr. Tzeng is the recipient of the outstanding paper award at 10th International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems, May 1990. He received the University Foundation Distinguished Professor Award in 1997.

Wei Shu -- Research Assistant

Wei Shu received the MS degree in computer engineering from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, in 2013. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at Center for Advanced Computer Studies, the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. Her research interests include chip-multicore processors and large-scale cache coherence protocol designs.

Purushottam Sigdel -- Research Assistant

Purushottam’s research interests include parallel and distributed processing, storage systems, systems architecture, and fault-tolerant computing.

Purushottam is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Center for Advanced Computer Studies, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He received the BE degree in electronics and communication engineering in 2000 and MS degree in information and communication in 2006 from Trubhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal, and MS degree in computer science from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, in 2014. From 2000 to 2012, he worked as an instructor in the department of electronics and computer engineering in Pulchowk campus, Lalitpur, Nepal. He also serves as a teaching assistant at School of Computing and Informatics for various courses, including Programming with Java, C++, Python, Information Assurance/Security, and Advanced Database. He is a member of the IEEE, the Computer Society.

Pisacha Srinuan -- Research Assistant

Pisacha’s research interests include parallel processing, distributed networked system, memory hierarchy, systems architecture, operating system design, and resource disaggregation.

Pisacha is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Center for Advanced Computer Studies (CACS), the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He received the BE degree in computer engineering in 2013 from Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand and MS degree in computer engineering from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, in 2015. He currently is a teaching assistant at School of Computing and Informatics, including Programming with C, C++, Introduction to Electrical Engineering, Design&Analysis of Algorithms, Computer Architecture.

Austin J Pohlmann -- Undergraduate Research Assistant

Austin's research interests include memory hierarchy, distributed networked systems, operating system design, and resource dis-aggregation.

Austin is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's School of Computing and Informatics. He is expected to graduate in May 2019 and continue into graduate school to deepen his depth of knowledge in computer science and to share his newfound knowledge with the community. He is also a member of ACM and CMIX Student Association.
