Work Study Students

Blake Hargrave

Blake Hargrave is from Kaplan, Louisiana, and is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Cloud Computing at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. With interests deeply rooted in the practical applications of technology, Blake is engaged in research that spans across virtual reality, data analysis, and their relevance to environmental challenges. At present, Blake is dedicating his efforts to a Virtual Reality Flooding Project. This project utilizes Unity and raw rainfall data to create virtual simulations of flood scenarios based on real-world landscapes and buildings. The aim is to provide a tool that could potentially aid in planning emergency evacuations during floods. By focusing on realistic representations of environments and the dynamics of flooding, Blake hopes to contribute to better preparedness and response strategies in communities vulnerable to such natural disasters.
